I need to work out. I know I do.
I'm five pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight but as I've mentioned before, things just aren't the same. The most exercise I get is lifting my almost-17-pound-baby in her car seat carrier every day.
I just can't seem to find the time or energy to do it.
I start my day at 4:30 a.m., if I'm lucky. Have a 35 minute commute to work. Work until 3:30 p.m. Drive the 45 minutes to pick up Peanut from the sitter and another 15 minutes home. It's usually close to 5 p.m. by the time I get home and I play with Peanut, maybe take a quick nap with her, fix dinner or entertain her while dinner is being fixed. Feed her and then run around the house preparing for the next day while the husband bathes her. Play some more or read a book. Put Peanut to bed. Listen to her cry. Rock her for awhile. Listen to her cry some more. Enjoy the peacefulness of a sleeping child. Go to bed by 11 p.m.
I could probably cut out the quick nap after work and do a 20 minute work out. But by that time, I'm pooped and need a boost of energy. I know, I know, the work out would do the same. I just can't seem to get there.
Once I'm done breastfeeding, I think I will have time to go to the gym at work during lunch and do a quick run or work out on an elliptical. Right now, most of my break time is taken up with pumping, which I plan to continue until she is a year old. And when it gets warmer out, I want to start taking Peanut on regular walks, but that probably won't happen for a few months either.
I need to get started now.
So I'm looking for inspiration. What do you do to fit in your work out? What's your favorite work out? How often do you work out for how long?
