Within seconds of walking into what is now our house (after six months of looking) I knew I wanted it to be ours. I looked past the awful blue sponge paint in the kitchen and the awful dark blue with light blue swirls in the carpet upstairs with one random bedroom sporting grass green carpet. I ignored the small, outdated master bath that had lighthouse and seagull wallpaper. (All hints of blue, green and seagulls has since gone away.)
I looked past it all because I saw the potential in this room and saw what I could transform it into.

This is my happy place. It is our three season room and while it isn't fancy, it is my favorite place in the house. I got most of the furniture for a steal at a secondhand shop and the cushions on sale at Pottery Barn.
I love to sit out here with the girls and enjoy our back yard, which has enough trees and hills to keep us from seeing our neighbors.
Right now Peanut is out with the husband and Gizmo and I are listening to Glee songs enjoying the break in the hot weather. It is 70 degrees and perfect.
I came out here to read but I have spent most of the time wrangling Gizmo who has managed to push herself on her hands and knees. She is no longer content hanging out on the floor but insists on rolling everywhere. Apparently she has tired of that, too and plans to crawl soon.
I am not an outside kind of girl (bugs, dirt) so this room is perfect for me. I can enjoy being outside without actually being outside.
Where is your happy place?

My bed is my happy place.
I love to sleep and lounge and watch tv and read and think and just LIE THERE.
I once told T that if I wasn't already married, I would've married that bed. He nodded in understanding.
Strangely, I don't have a happy place in our home. I guess it stems from the fact that everywhere I look there are projects and messes and nothing quite "right". Maybe I need to change MY outlook and my happy place will appear.
For now, if I had to pick, it would be my bed. It's just so damn comfy and so hard to get out of every morning.
I do like the outside, as long as there aren't mosquitos. We got gorgeous patio furniture at the end of the season last year. So the patio is my current happy place. Reading out there with my new Kindle is pure bliss!
My happy place is so similar. I love being outside but covered and bug-free. AWESOME.
