Mood-lift giveaway

I'm in a mood. I'm not going to whine about the reasons why; it's not productive and none of them are big.  (Well, except for the fact that the transmission in our second car, the one paid off, might be shot ...) I'm trying to look on the bright side. My children are mostly well-behaved. The husband and I had a date last weekend. We've got lots of fun things on the horizon. I've been counting little blessings like midday chats with my mom and emails from my funny little grandpa.

But still, there is a mood.

So, I'm trying a new tact. I'm going to do something nice for someone else, for one of you. It's been a long time since we did a giveaway and now seems as good a time as any.

To enter, tell me in the comments section one good thing about your day. You have until 12 a.m. Sept. 16. I'll pick a number randomly and announce the winner that day. Winner gets a box of goodies from me -- probably including baked goods of some sort -- and the chance to say, as The Boy has recently learned to do, "Winner winner chicken dinner!"

I got to go for a run! It's not my first choice of activities to get out of the house, but it gets the job done.

I went to a meeting at H's school tonight, and he got a glowing report! Doesn't get much better than listening to a teacher brag on your kid.

I finished the grading I needed to do, and the quiz scores were strong! The students' parents I contacted responded with equal concern (not attitude) about their children. I am 36 weeks pregnant and still quite comfortable, having only gained 18 pounds (amazing, even to me) and still having no cankles. My husband is buying me coffee for the morning and scratching my sugar craving by getting me a cookie, too. :)

I just sugar detoxed for a week and lost 1.5 lbs.! Woot! So long, sugar cravings! Now, I must keep them from coming back by practicing moderation. ;)

I got a haircut and I don't hate it! That hardly ever happens--I'm so picky.

I sent my daughter to her first day of preschool and she was gone for 3 whole hours. My son and I had some serious quality time together :-)

The husband actually loaded the dishwasher without being asked. And my 6 yr old came home and proclaimed she loved, loved, loved her new school and wishes she could go seven days a week.

My husband changing the oil in my car without being asked and doing it without complaining! So lucky to have him.

Gosh--we were both in funky chicken places yesterday, weren't we?

So one good thing about my day yesterday was that for one more evening, Ezra let me rock and snuggle him before bed. My heart may break a little when this stops.

My husband spent 30 minutes rubbing my back last night and that was positively glorious (and desperatly needed in my current condition). Everything else just melted away.

I'm working at home today so I didn't have my 45-min each way commute! And, we are going to eat at someone's house tonight so I don't need to cook. (I know you said one thing, but it's been a DAY so far and I really needed to think of two to counteract the morning.)

Flying birds and midgets dressed me in a princess costume this morning while a purple unicorn waited to take me to work.

Audrey started saying 'quack quack' when I sing Old McDonald to her. Best ever.
